Facebook Home Review on the Samsung Galaxy S3

Facebook Home introduced itself to the world 12 April 2013.  Available through the Google Play Store for free on the following devices:  Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note 2, HTC One, One X, and the One X+.  This is my review of Facebook Home on the Samsung Galaxy S3.

First the bad, it seems like a weak attempt to engage the average Facebook user when they don't want to be engaged... In other words it's like being force fed information through death by Powerpoint in an arrangement that you can't customize or choose any order for that matter. Although, if you're an avid die-hard user that may not be a problem.  But for most of us it will seem like a novelty at first, then it wears off..QUICKLY!

The Good:  Chat Heads.  Chat Heads allows for Facebook messaging and the native messaging app on your phone to work seamlessly together.  You can even move them around the screen when they are in the way of what you're doing.

"Switchability"  You can easily switch between the Facebook Home launcher and Android just by pressing the home button or toggling over to the right of your profile bubble.

Liking:  You can simply like something by double tapping on the photo.  Facebook Home allows the user to comment on something with ease and keeping what important to them front and center!

After 2 days with this launcher I've found it somewhat intrusive and unnecessary.  A few times when my phone almost slipped out my hand, I found myself "accidentally" liking something and becoming apart of a thread that I don't care about.  For me the excitement has worn off, the initial ooo's and ahhh's have silenced.  Now I'm just waiting to see what else Facebook Home may have to offer in the future.  Let's just hope it's MORE than this.
